Tire Swing Memories

(as promised)

unknown artist

Well worn rubber
Tread slick from over use
dangles from thick
rope
We twist ourselves
tight
…..then let go
Spinning in dizzy
delight
Southern summer sun
streams down through
red maple leaves
to tan our exposed
limbs
Giggles and squeals
streak across the open
yard
again!”
It was a simple
time
filled with simple
joys
enjoyed by little
people
with giant
hearts
