Ghost of Childhood Happiness

Occasionally the ghost
of my childhood
visits to remind me
of the happiness I
found in the
world’s simple
wonders.
Dragonflies skimming
across a still pond
A shower of falling autumn
leaves
The crackle and pop of
a campfire
The after rain smell of wet earth
and honeysuckle
Occasionally she shows up
Tugs on my memory
and reminds me to
slow down and enjoy
this revolving world around
me
